His third album Saaun Di Jhadi released in 2001 was a highly successful album; it sold over ten million copies in India alone and many more overseas.[citation needed] In 2003 Maan was selected as actor and Music Director for the movie Hawayein in which he worked alongside his favourite singer, Sukhwinder Singh. The movie was highly successful. It was followed by his album, Ohi Chann Ohi Rataan. This album also fared well, both in terms of critics and sales.
Maan's fourth album Pyass was a huge hit. Every song was a top song, especially the song "Mitran De Chattri". The album was awarded as The Best Album of the Year in ETC Channel Punjabi Music Awards 2006 beating Jazzy B's Romeo and Sukhshinder Shinda's Balle.[citation needed]
In 2006 Maan started on his first playback movie called Rabb Ne Banayien Jodeian. The songs were a hit once again for Maan. His fifth album was Mera Gham which was a highly successful Hindi album. It focused more on slow romantic and sad songs and a few up-beat songs. The song "Ek Raat/One Night Stand" shocked many listeners but that song had a very catchy beat.
Maan starred in a New Year's special called "Aao Saare Nachiye" which was also highly successful. Part 1 was released 2008 and Part 2 in 2009. Maan's lastest movie, Hashar... A love Story, was the biggest movie success in his career; the songs were also a hit. Maan has been selected as the Music Director for the movie Vaada Raha ("I Promise") starring Bobby Deol. For this film, music will be supplied by Eros Entertainment and Maan will be working alongside Monty Sharma, Toshi Sarib, and Turaaz for Music Director and Lyrics.
He is also working on his next album Yaad Sajjan Di and his next film Mittaran Di Chattari-The Movie is releasing January 2010.
