prateik babbar Earlier Prateik assisted advertisement filmmaker Prahlad Kakkar for a year as a production assistant. During this time Prateik was cast in advertisement films for several companies, including KitKat.
Prateik made his acting debut in the Aamir Khan production, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, alongside Imran Khan and Genelia D'Souza. His portrayal of Genelia's brother, Amit, won him plaudits from critics and earned him several awards and nominations. The film went on to become a major commercial success. He next appeared in Kiran Rao's critically acclaimed Dhobi Ghaat, which opened to positive reviews at film festivals worldwide.[1][2] He featured in the action-thriller Dum Maro Dum alongside Abhishek Bachchan and Rana Daggubati. He has been seen alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Manoj Bajpai in the Prakash Jha film Aarakshan, released in August 2011. He appeared on the cover of the Indian men's luxury magazine The Man ( www.facebook.com/The-Man-magazine-India ) in July 2011.
Prateik studied acting with another new actor Helius D'souza at the Kishore Namith Kapoor acting lab . Prateik was a prankster in class and often made silly jokes and comments while he was learning acting . He had plans of studying acting further along with Helius D'souza at the New york Film academy , but later on decided to pursue new film roles since opportunities kept pouring in .
